Why does cake become fluffy after adding baking soda

On adding baking soda to the cake batter, it would undergo thermal decomposition due to the heat trapped in the batter. Thus, the following reaction takes place :- 2NaHCO3 (s) ----> Na2CO3 (aq) + CO2 (g) + H2O (l). The CO2 evolved makes the cake fluffy.

how to metal carbonate and metal hydrogen carbonate react with acid ? Taking sodium as metal, write the balanced chemical equation in both the cases. State the method to test the gas involved in this reaction

FORMULA :- Metal carbonate/metal hydrogen carbonate+ acid ----------> salt + carbondioxide + hydrogen. SODIUM HYDROGEN CARBONATE WITH ACID:- NaHCO3 + HCL---------> Nacl+ Co2 +H20. SODIUM CARBONATE WITH ACID:- Na2CO3 + 2HCL------> 2Nacl + Co2 + H2O. How to test CO2 in the both cases:- Pass the evolved gas in quick lime it will turn to milky white slaked lime water.

What is the effect of DNA copying which is not perfectly accurate on the reproductioyn process?

I t would lead to formation of VARIATIONS. If these variations go hand in hand with the constantly changing environment, they enhance survival rate of a species.

What are the advantages of sexual reproduction over asexual reproduction?

Sexual reproduction gives variations in the offsprings from which they have a better chance of adaptation and survival whereas in asexual reproduction the offsprings are the exact same copies of the parents so there is less chance of survival and adaptation. Infact the rate of variations in asexual reproduction is very very low.

What are the causes of variations class 10

As we know that variation occurs in sexual reproduction where to get a means of different parents of same species are fused together to form zygote that's why the features of that they got are of both male and female parent does it create variation in that zygote.

What is Biomagnification? Class 10

The process by which the toxic_and_harmful substances into a foodchain and then get concentrated in body of living organisms at each successive level is called biological magnification_or_biomagnification.

what is emulsification for class 10

The process of chemical break down of big fats particles into its simplest particles form with the help of bile juice secreted by liver is called emulsification.

Why violet colour bends maximum?

Violet colour bends maximum because it has smallest wavelength whereas red colour has maximum wavelength.

Why did Mendel choose pea plant for his experiments?

1.It is easy to grow 2.It has a short life span 3.Scope of studying multiple generations 4.Has seven pairs of contrasting characters. OR Mendel choose pea plant for his experiment because pea plant had a number of characteristics such as (white flower , purple flower),( tall plant, dwarf plant), (green seeds, yellow seeds), (circle seed, wrinkled seeds), etc. And a reason is also responsible is that in a single year we can grow many plants or many times.

During heavy rain in a village, the rainwater carried the excessive fertilizers to a pond. How will it affect the fish population in the pond in the long run?

Fish population will have negative experience as the algae and plants growing there will not allow adequate sunlight to reach the fishes and sea plant. Algae also uses O2 present in water which reduces its amount in water which leads to death of fishes.

How to prevent coronavirus at home | Precautions to be taken to avoid covid-19

How to prevent coronavirus at home | what are the precautions to be taken to avoid covid-19 : These are some major precautions to avoid COVID-19🦠😷 ( corona virus) :- 1. Avoid close contact with people. Stay at least 5-6 feet away from anyone that is coughing or sneezing. 2. Once every hour, use soap and water to wash your hands thoroughly. 3. Disinfect your phone - wet a clean cloth with soap water and wipe your phone with it. Also clean door handles, switch boards and other such surfaces at your home which people frequently touch. 4. Use a tissue or your bent elbow when you cough or sneeze. Remove used tissues immediately. 5. Avoid touching your eyes or face. Your hands touch many surfaces and may pick the virus. If you touch your face, the virus can enter your body from your nose, eyes or mouth and infect you. 6. If you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, seek medical help. In such a scenario, avoid contact with family members and wear a face mask. For medical help, y...

Summary of Mendel's Principles

Law of Dominance: Some alleles are dominant and cover up the recessive alleles. Law of Segregation: An organism has two alleles for each gene but they can only pass on one. Law of Independent Assortment: Genes found on separate chromosomes are inherited independently of each other.

What are dominant and recessive traits?

Dominant traits are traits that show up in the F1 progeny even in the presence of another allele of opposite trait. e.g:- Tt , Ff In pea plants , tallness is the dominant trait and dwarfness is the recessive trait. Recessive trait is a trait which shows up only in the presence of another gene of the same trait i.e , in absence of a dominant trait. e.g:- Dwarfness shows up in pea plants only when it consists of alleles of the same dwarf trait ( tt ).

Give reason Ethane is covalent compound

Give reason Ethane is covalent compound. In ethane there is covalent bonding between carbon and hydrogen atom. In ethane carbon and hydrogen shares two electrons carbon shares two electrons. Therefore as ethane is made up of covalent bonding between carbon and hydrogen, so ethane is a covalent compound.

Difference between homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture

Homogeneous mixture = A mixture which has the same appearance and chemical composition throughout . Example = air; mixture of gases etc. Heterogeneous mixture = Heterogeneous mixture is a mixture with a non - uniform composition. When you mix two components that remain seperate from each other, that mixture is called a heterogeneous mixture. Example A mixture of cement, sugar and water. etc.

What is permanent tissue?

The tissues made after division of meristematic cells are called permanent tissue.

What is amalgam? Which amalgam is used in the filling of teeth?

The alloy in which first metal is mercury, that alloy is known as amalgam. Uses: Dental amalgam is a mixture of mercury and a silver-tin alloy and is used for fillings in teeth. Amalgam fillings are often known as "silver fillings." Dental amalgam is a mixture of mercury, silver, tin and copper. Mercury, which makes up about 50% of the compound, binds the metals together to provide a strong, durable filling.

How is baking soda obtain from salt as 1.as medicine 2.in food and drinks 3.fire extinguisher

Baking soda is a chemical compound which is also called as - Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO,). 1. Antacid / medicine - NaHCO, acts like an absorbable antacid. Baking soda imitates the action of natural sodium bicarbonate in the body and neutralizes the stomach acid relieving acid reflux. 2. Food/ Baking - When baking soda is mixed with moisture and with an acidic substance like yogurt, buttermilk etc, a chemical reaction occurs which produces carbon dioxide gas as bubbles. These bubbles expand under hot temperatures like in the oven while it is baking. This causes the baked bread or cake to become soft and spongy. 3. Soda-acid fire extinguisher - A soda-acid fire extinguisher is usually a mixture of baking soda and an acid which is commonly sulfuric acid. It is used as a pressurized expeller to put off the fire. When it is expelled, a reaction in between the contents of the soda-acid occurs which releases carbon dioxide that extinguishes the fire.

Fast food-A Health Hazard

In this modern era Children have addiction for fast food like burgers, noodles, etc which is spicy & easy and fast to cook. Today's mothers are lazy and they love making such type of fast food for the Tiffin. Just think! this habit given by mothers becomes an addiction for the children, and when they grow up they don't like other nutritional food. These fast-foods don't contain any type of nutrients or vitamins which are good for a growing children. These cause some disease like poor digestive system, poor eyesight, weakness in bones and many more. Due to less availability of calcium, growth is also affected. Some major disease occur which is very injurious for a growing child. So, Mothers should take care about the balanced diet of their children since childhood. Otherwise, they will have to suffer when these problems will turn into a disease. So, right decision should be taken at the right time.
