कहानी को नाटक में रूपांतरित करने के अनेक चरण है। प्रत्येक पायदान का अपना महत्व है। कथावस्तु को देश काल के आधार पर बांटा जाता है। उसके बाद कहानी में घटित होने वाली घटनाओं के अनुसार दृश्यों का प्रस्तुतिकरण किया जाता है। दृश्य नाटक को गति प्रदान करने वाले होने चाहिए। एक दृश्य दूसरे दृश्य की भूमिका तैयार करने वाला होना चाहिए। अर्थात दृश्यों में तारतम्यता होनी चाहिए।  फिर कहानी से संबंधित संवादों को लिखा जाता है। संवाद भाषा की कहानी के आधार पर होनी चाहिए। जिसे देश में कहानी लिखी गई हो, वैसी ही भाषा का चयन संवादों के लिए किया जाना चाहिए। ध्वनि व प्रकाश योजना एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। नाटक की सफलता में मंच संचालन, मंच सज्जा इत्यादि भी नाटक के मुख्य चरण होते हैं।

प्रश्न. कहानी और नाटक में क्या- क्या असमानताएँ होती है? उत्तर: कहानी में चित्रण होता है , नाटक  मे मंचन होता है। कहानी का संबंध मात्र लेखक और पाठक से होता है, जबकि नाटक का संबंध पटकथा, पात्र, निर्देशक, दर्शक, इतिहास से होता है। कहानी कही व पढी जाती है, नाटक दर्शाए जाते हैं, उन्हें चित्रो व दृश्य मे बांटा जाता है। कहानी में मात्र पुस्तक या कथा कहने वालों की आवश्यकता होती है, किंतु नाटक में मंच, लाइट, पात्र, मेकअप, अभिनेता, निर्देशक इत्यादि की आवश्यकता होती है। नाटक के दृश्यों की छाप अधिक समय तक दर्शकों के मस्तिष्क पर रहती है, कहानी मस्तिष्क पटल पर समय के साथ धुंधली पड़ जाती है।

This is the famous proverb spoken by all the mentors. This is the perfect example of will power. If one has strong will power, he can achieve anything whatever he wants. A strong will power provides us courage to face any obstacles. Once Napoleon was told that it was impossible to cross the Alps. Then a road was made across them. He said - " Impossible is the word which is found in the dictionary of fools. In this way we find that we can really achieve anything if we have strong will power.
