How does Maddie feel after listening to the note from Wanda's father?

After listening to the note from Wanda's father, Maddie feels deeply hurt and sad for Wanda. She cannot concentrate on her work. She has a very sick feeling in the bottom of her stomach. Now Maddie feels guilty as she did not stop Peggy from making fun of Wanda. She has just stood silently, and that is as bad as what Peggy has done.
