What is mouse ? | Basic information about computer mouse

Mouse is an input device. With a click of a button, the mouse sends information to the computer. The mouse is an interesting device that offers an alternative way to interact without the computer beside a keyboard. A typical mouse has two buttons. At the top of the device you will find a left and right button which allows "clicks". There is a scrolling wheel between the two buttons. A mouse consists of a metal or plastic housing or casing, a ball that sticks out of the bottom of the casing and is rolled on a flat surface, one or more buttons on the top of the casing, and cable that connects the mouse to the computer. As the ball is moved over the surface in any direction, a sensor sends impulses to the computer. Nowadays, optical mice are also very popular. It is an advanced computer pointing device that uses a light-emitting diode (LED), an optical sensor, and digital signal processing (DSP) in place of the traditional mouse ball and electromechanical transducer. Movement is detected by sensing changes in reflected light, rather than by interpreting the motion of a rolling sphere.
